Important Details in Travel Insurance Application
Family Plan
The family per-trip plan covers children travelling with 1 or 2 adults, of which either one of them must be directly related to the children. The family must also travel and return from abroad together.
The annual multi-trip plan covers a legally married couple with any number of children. While the couple may travel separately, any one of the children must travel with either of the insured adults under this plan.
*A child refers to an unmarried person or person not older than 18 years of age, or not above 23 years of age of the person is currently studying full-time or enrolled to study full-time in a recognised institution during the Policy period.
Trip Duration
Per-trip refers to a trip which does not exceed 182 consecutive days from the departure from to the date of return to Singapore.
Annual Multi-Trip refers to multiple trips over the yearly period specified in the policy schedule where each trip is no longer than 90 consecutive days.
Commencement of Coverage
You may cancel your travel either i) 60 days before the date of departure, or from the date of purchase of the policy which must be at least 7 days before the departure date (not inclusive of the date of departure itself) whichever is later, for insurance company to respond.
The Personal Accident Protection will begin 3 hours before the Insured leave Singapore and will cease when any one of the following incidents occurs:
(a) upon expiration of the period of time stated in the policy,
(b) when the Insured return to their permanent place of residence, or
(c) within 3 hours upon return to Singapore.
Duplicate & Refund Coverage
If the person is currently under more than one insurance policy offered by the same company, the company will place the person to be covered by the policy which offers the most benefit.
You may not ask for a refund of the premium once the insurance has been issued.
Main Exclusions
Main exclusions refer to certain situations or conditions that are not covered by the standard insurance plans. For example,
-AIDS; mental or nervous disorders; suicide or self-inflicted injuries.
-Childbirth & Pregnancy (except Section 3 and Section 7).
-Gemstones.
-Flight duty (except as a passenger) or manual work.
-Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
*Any pre-existing medical conditions for a Per Trip Plan Policy refer to any illness, disease or other condition which You suffer. It either first manifested itself, worsened, became acute or exhibited symptoms within a 12-month period preceding the effective date of this Policy, or requires You to comsume prescribed drugs/medicine or was treated or recommended treatment by a Medical Practitioner.
Pre-existing medical conditions for an Annual Multi-Trip Plan Policy refer to any illness, disease or other condition for which a claim is payable under the Policy in respect of a previous Trip within 12 months prior to Your travel or any illness, disease or other condition which You suffer and within a 12-month period preceding the effective date of this Policy (a) first manifested itself, worsened, became acute or exhibited symptoms which would have caused an ordinary prudent person to seek diagnosis care or treatment; (b) requires You to take prescribed drugs or medicine; or (c) was treated by a Medical Practitioner or treatment was recommended by a Medical Practitioner.
