Hand-Carry and Checked Baggage Guidelines
All airlines place limits on the number, the size, and the weight of what you can carry on to a flight with you, so check with your airline before packing to determine its carry-on guidelines regarding the number of items you may carry on, and the maximum size of those items.
Here's a list we've come up with:

For Starter fares: Permitted to have 1 main item of carry-on baggage and 1 other small item (handbag, umbrella, coat, etc.), with a total combined weight of up to 10kg.
- Main item cannot exceed the dimensions of 56cm X 36cm X 23cm.
For Jetstar Pacific flights (BL) passengers: The total combined weight is 7kg.
For Business Class fares: Permitted 1 additional main item (2 main items in total) of carry-on baggage, as long as each main item does not exceed 10kg, with a total combined carry-on baggage weight of up to 20kg.

For Starter fares: Select from 15kg to 40kg of checked baggage in 5kg increments, per passenger, per flight.
For Business Class: Fares includes 20kg of carry-on baggage and 30kg of checked baggage. If you require more, you can purchase up to 40kg (10kg extra) of checked baggage per passenger, per flight, when you make your booking.
- Each single item must not weigh more than 32kg.
- Excess baggage fees apply if you need to add more baggage after booking has been made. |

- In addition to the carry-on baggage allowance, 1 of the following items may be carried in the cabin:
a) A laptop computer, handbag, pocketbook or purse (of reasonable size).
b) A pair of crutches or prosthetic device – for use, provided that the guest is dependent on them for mobility.
ScootBiz Fares: Up to 15kg of cabin baggage allowed.
- Cabin Baggage may consist of 2 pieces (e.g. small bag or briefcase) that do not exceed dimensions of 54cm X 38cm X 23cm per piece.

- Minimum check-in baggage allowance: 15kg
Fly fare or Fly-Promo fares: Does not include a complimentary baggage allowance, but you may purchase a minimum 15kg allowance and up to 40kg for an additional fee.
FlyBag and FlyBagEat fares: Include a complimentary check-in baggage allowance of up to 15kg.
ScootBiz fares: Includes a complimentary baggage allowance of up to 20kg.

Main item: Must not exceed dimensions of 56cm X 36cm X 23cm (22" x 14" x 9") in size. Dimensions include wheels, handles, and side pockets.
Small item: May be any of the following - handbag, backpack, briefcase, or laptop bag, etc.
Economy Class: Cabin baggage must not exceed weight of 7kg.
Business Class: Cabin baggage must not exceed weight of 10kg.

All passengers are entitled to a free checked baggage allowance, which varies depending on your route, class and member tier.
For all countries (except Americas):

- Cabin baggage must not exceed weight of 7kg (Economy) or 10kg (Business).
- The weight of any single piece of checked baggage should not exceed 32kg. |

Economy Class: Only 1 piece of cabin baggage is allowed, not exceeding 7kg and 115cm (sum of length, width, height).
Suite Class: 2 pieces of cabin baggage allowed, not exceeding 7kg per piece, and 115cm (sum of length, width, height).
In addition to the above, small items such as the following are also allowed:
- Handbag, coat, umbrella, walking stick, laptop/notebook, small camera, reading material, infant's food, and any other prosthetic devices)
Items such as trolley bag / garment bag / briefcase constitute as 1 piece of cabin baggage, not exceeding dimensions of 50cm x 40cm x 25cm.

Checked baggage varies depending on the class of fares.
- Economy: Up to 20kg
For flights to/from USand Brazil, the piece concept for checked baggage is used.
- US: Up to 23kg |
- Up to 7kg of cabin baggage is allowed per piece. |

- Every passenger is allowed 1 hand-carry baggage weighing no more than 7kg, and not exceeding dimensions of 56cm X 36cm X 23cm.
- Hand-carry must be stowed under the passenger's seat or fitted in overhead bins securely, and must not obstruct passenger movement along the aisle.
- 1 other small item may be carried onboard such as: laptop, purse, small backpack, briefcase or camera case.

- Checked baggage allowance varies depending on traveller's destination.
- Not exceeding 2 pieces, and 20kg (US, Canada) and 32kg (most other destinations) for checked baggage per passenger.
