Best conducted during the monsoon period (June to September), Rainforest Trail has been specially designed to take advantage of the wet season. Visit the spectacular Athirapally Waterfalls at its most spectacular. Then spend a night on the enchanting Backwaters at Alleppey, before proceeding on to the Hill Station of Munnar – the most admired hill station in India. The beauty about Munnar lies in the never ending expanse of spice and tea plantations, beautiful valleys, lush green mountains, spell binding waterfalls and the various wildlife sanctuaries.

Itinerary:

Day 1 ARRIVAL IN COCHIN
 
Upon arrival in Cochin, your guide will receive you at the airport and escort you to Hotel Elite Palazzo, just 10 minutes’ from the airport. Enjoy a good night’s rest.

Day 2 ATHIRAPALLY WATERFALLS

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed on to Athirapally – home to some of the most breathtaking waterfalls of the country. Reaching Rainforest Resort at Athirapally around 12 pm, we will take lunch at the resort. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding waterfalls and rainforest. After lunch, trek down to the waterfalls.

At any time of the day, you can access the waterfalls through the resort’s private access gate. Dinner would be taken at the resort.

Day 3 ALLEPPEY

After breakfast, check out from Rainforest Resort (3 to 4 hour journey) and head to Alleppey. Alleppey is famous for its serene backwaters and royal, luxury houseboats. Checking in to the houseboats at noon, you will begin one of the most exotic experiences of your lifetime. Cruise through various lakes and lagoons, exploring the coastal backwaters of Alleppey. The delicacies served on board include the excellent fish unique to the Alleppey coasts.
 
Also, during your stay at the houseboat, you will enjoy a 60-min Ayurvedic Session that is included in your holiday.

Day 4 MUNNAR
 
After an early breakfast, check out of the houseboat and head for Munnar – currently one of the hottest travel destinations. The journey to Munnar takes approximately 4 to 5 hours. Reaching the resort around lunch time, spend the rest of the day exploring the beautiful valley, where the resort is located.
 
Your eco-friendly accommodation is built on stilts in order to cause the least amount of disturbance to the surrounding environment. Relax on your balcony and enjoy the surrounding nature in all its verdant bounty.

Day 5 MUNNAR
 
Munnar is located around 6,500 ft above sea level and is part of the Western Ghat Mountain ranges. The beauty about Munnar is its never ending expanse of spice and tea plantations, beautiful valleys, lush green mountains, spell binding waterfalls and various wildlife sanctuaries. Words do not do justice and a trip here is necessary to fully appreciate the full beauty of the area. Its beauty is to be experienced and cannot be explained in words.
 
Choose to visit top station, Devikulam or Eravikulam National Park. Your driver will be able to advise you on which excursion best suits you. Short trips to Chithirapuram, Kundala Dam and other surrounding places can also be arranged.

Day 6 MUNNAR TO COCHIN
 
After a leisurely breakfast, you will leave Munnar to head to Cochin. It takes about 4 hours to reach Cochin.
 
There will be ample time in Cochin for some shopping. Items you can get here include Kerala Sarees and antiques. Afterwards, head to the airport for your return flight home.
