Highlights:

The Southern state of Kerala is arguably India's most interesting state. Its culture has been influenced by Portuguese, Dutch and English elements involved in the spice trade; its geography varies in a very short distance from tropical beaches to high hill station. This itinerary brings you a combination of cruising along the backwater of Kerala, visit to one of Kerala's famous hill station and experience one of the best-managed wildlife sanctuaries of Kerala.

ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Singapore - Cochin

Assemble to Changi International Airport for your departure to Cochin in the state of Kerala. Upon arrival, meet by our representatives and transfer to hotel for overnight.
 
Day 2 - Cochin - Munnar (B/L/D)
After breakfast, drive 4 hours to Munnar, one of the most popular hill stations known for its sprawling tea gardens. Western Ghats mountains ranges make up an impressive fortress all along Kerala.
 
Day 3 - Munnar (B/L/D)
Full day visit to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary safari, through the Anamudi Shola National Park "The biggest shola forest in India" A wonderful drive through Kanan Devan Hills tea plantations, villages, Madupatty, Echo-Point, Kundala Dam and a spectacular drive/walk through the Anamudi Shola National Park, where you can see the real nature, birds' lives, tree fern grown like a palm tree and many more. After this 8 kilometer drive/walk we will enter in a beautiful countryside of the Tamil people where you can see the vegetable cultivations, rice, and sugarcane cultivations and Muniyara "the historical hermitages". This drive will take you up the Kerala Tamil Nadu border to a Chinnar wildlife sanctuary and we will have 2 hours trek through the Sanctuary and back to Munnar through the Marayoor Sandal wood forest.
 
Day 4 - Munnar - Thekkady (B/L/D)
Morning enjoy another 4-5 hours trek to Pullivasal Hills, starting from old Munnar, walking through the local villages, tea plantations and going up to the mountain ridges of Pullivasal Hills where you'll see amazing views. Enroute you'll come across wild flowers, birds etc. Enjoy your Box Picnic lunch at the top of the ridge. Afternoon drive 4.5 hrs to Thekkady. Boat Ride is subjected to availability - First come first serve basis.
 
Day 5 - Thekkady (B/L/D)
Set in the heart of the Cardamom Hills of Kerala is Periyar National Park, offering to enjoy South India's wildlife. It is South India's most popular wildlife sanctuary, encompassiong an area of 777 sq km. Set on a attractive man made Periyar Lake, it attracts 300,000 visitors a year. Morning take a boat ride on Lake Periyar around Periyar Sanctuary. The forest here slopes into the man made lake at the bottom of the hill. This lake sercves as the waterhole for the animals and they come here to drink. Elephants, gaur and sambhar can be spotted here. Afternoon proceed for a short guided treks as the guide takes you through the Periyar Jungle.
 
Day 6 - Thekkady - Alleppey (B/L/D)
Morning drive 4 hours to Alleppey where you'll board your A/C Bedroom Houseboat (A/C operates in Bedroom only from 9 PM to 7 AM). Enjoy a Cruise on the famous Backwaters of Kerala. The complex network of lagoons, lakes, rivers and canals fringing the coast of Kerala forms the basis of a distinct regional lifestyle. Overnight on board in your houseboat.
 
Day 7 - Alleppey - Cochin (B/L/D)
Morning enjoy another short cruise before disembarking from your Houseboat at Alleppey Jetty by 10.00 a.m. Later transfer 1.5 hours to Cochin. Afternoon is free for shopping and evening witness a Kathakali Dance show.
 
Day 8 - Cochin - Singapore (B/L/D)

Morning is free. After check out from hotel at noon, we'll drive across Willington Island & Kochi Shipyard to Mattancherry. Visit St. Francis Church, the oldest European built church in India. Visit the Jewish Synagogue (Closed on Fridays, Saturdays/Jewish Holidays, Note visitors with Trousers/Bermudas/Sleeveless T-shirts/Tops not allowed.) Was built in 1568 AD, and is oldest in the common-wealth. It is adorned by hundreds of blue and white hand-painted tiles imported from China. Mattancherry Palace was gifted to Maharaja of Kochi as a good-will gesture to ensure trade privileges by the Portugese. The Palace is now converted to a Museum, open from 10 am to 5 pm (Closed on Fri/Saturday's). Continue onto giant Chinese Fishing nets at the harbor's entrance that silhouetted against the sunset, present a magnificent sight of the water-front. These huge cantilevered nets are a legacy of traders between 1350-1450 from court of Kublai Khan. After dinner, transfer to airport for flight back to Singapore.

Arrive in Singapore with fond memories of your recent trip.
